Welcome To
November 2, 2004
Welcome to the Native-POLL-ooza website!
Native-POLL-ooza is a FREE, OUTDOOR CONCERT EVENT to be held on the Phoenix Indian School Property in downtown Phoenix from Noon to 9 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 – Election Day!!!
This new event is intended to help build a stronger Native American voice within
Arizona and within the Country as a whole. Thousands of Native Americans, friends and supporters are expected to attend the festivities on November
2 to celebrate Native participation in the electoral process.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is FREE TO ALL and all attendees are encouraged to proudly wear their “I Voted Today” stickers or any other items that display their support of the Native voice in the political process. However, we must insist that attendees NOT bring partisan materials to the event, including signs, t-shirts and banners. Display of these items may interfere with the enjoyment of the event by other attendees.
We ask that you please be considerate of others in attendance. Thanks!
Also, because this is an OUTDOOR EVENT, attendees are encouraged to bring with them chairs and/or blankets to sit on while enjoying the festivities!
This year happens to be only the 80th year since Native Americans across the
country secured United States Citizenship through the Indian Citizenship Act. It
has been only 56 years since Arizona Native Americans secured their right to
vote following a landmark court case brought by two Fort McDowell tribal members
in 1948. The event promises to be a fun, but important way to celebrate the
history of Arizona Native Americans’ efforts to win these rights.
It is our hope that you will join us on election day to share food, friendship,
and great music in a celebration of our collective dignity and inclusion in our
political system.
Please check out information on the bands scheduled to perform, sponsors and
supporters. We hope to see you out there on election day!!!!!!
